God's Jukebox - Show 7

Broadcast date - Saturday 3rd June 2006 - 00:00 - BBC Radio 2

Mark keeps the theme of the show in the South after the previous week's New Orleans special.

This time the focus is his wider journey around the area for the “Redneck Music” documentary, which can be found elsewhere in our archive.  He selects tunes associated with the programme, and features the work of musician and record producer Jim Dickinson.

From another significant part of the musical map, Mark features tracks from a Toots & The Matyals compilation.

The live session is a return across the Atlantic with a set from UK Blues performer Big Joe Louis and his band.
